#ISUPPORTBIFF_Keiko ARAKI 게이코 아라키
I'm Araki, the Director of Pia Film Festival, an independent film festival in Japan. Many films we screened were invited to Busan. Several films were young director's debut films, and those filmmakers learned a lot from Busan. BIFF is still young film festival among the world's film festivals, but people love the festival and trust it. The reason is, there are staffs who understand others through films, consider the histories of human, cherish films that last longer than a life, and value it as an universe. This is the point why film festivals like BIFF are very important. People cannot live forever but they make films hoping the beauty and good of films pass on to the next generations. Audience, filmmakers and festival staffs are the ones who support this idea. To carry on the idea and continue the festival, people around the world will keep their eyes on BIFF. The world we live may be more unfair, and less tolerance. Although, we will talk about equality and nobility tof human beings and the film festival is where we will gather. We are looking forward to BIFF growing as more loved and more remarkable film festival. Hope to see everyone again in Busan this year.
